Friday 23 May 2025 Joel – World Leader Linguist in the Making! One of our fantastic Year 11 linguists used our online product "This is School" over the Easter holidays so much that he made it to Second Position on the Worldwide Leader Board! This is the email we received about his achievement: “Huge congratulations! I'm delighted to share that your student Joel M has achieved second place in our Global Student Leader board! Our leader boards take all This is School classes and students from all subjects around the world into account, so it really is an amazing achievement for Joel to be celebrated!”
Friday 23 May 2025 FORM 7JW CHARITY QUIZ EVENT It was quiz time for year 7 last month, as 7JW hosted an event as part of their Futures Award. One of the strands of the award is for helping their community, and 7JW decided to organise the quiz with a £1.50 entry.

Wednesday 7 May 2025 Mollie Year 7 Hockey Champ Mollie has been part of Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club since she was 5 years old. In March this year her U12 team qualified top of their group to reach the Midlands Championship where some of the best clubs in the UK took part.

Monday 28 April 2025 CanSat Rocket Launch Congratulations to Harry, Matthew and Poppy who successfully launched their CanSats, with the help of Connaugh, on board a real rocket at the British Model Flying Association headquarters in Buckminster on the 26th March.
Friday 25 April 2025 Holocaust VR Lesson - The Future of Teaching? The Holocaust Educational Trust came into school on the 25th March to share their new technology with us using their Testimony 360 programme.
Tuesday 22 April 2025 ACF Barwell Year 10 pupils Ava, Megan and Ella’s football team ACF Barwell, were lucky enough to make it to the County Cup final. It is the first time Barwell have got that far in the county cup and they were rewarded with being able to play at Holmes park in front of friends and family.

Wednesday 2 April 2025 Science & Engineering Primary School Visit South Charnwood recently hosted a science activity day for children from 9 local primary schools. Organised by Mr Kitchen, Headteacher from Stafford Leys Primary School, the children made parachute like contraptions that held an egg. After being launched from a 1st floor window the eggs were checked for signs of damage. Luckily no eggs were harmed during the launch!

Monday 28 October 2024 LEICESTER OPEN ART EXHIBITION Our students took part in an exciting opportunity last month when they entered their work into the Leicester Open Art Exhibition. The exhibition will be held at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday 14th December 2024 until Friday 31st January 2025.
