Holocaust VR Lesson - The Future of Teaching?

The Holocaust Educational Trust came into school on the 25th March to share their new technology with us using their Testimony 360 programme.

Pupils were given the opportunity to use VR technology to look at the life and testimony of Holocaust survivor Susan Pollock MBE. Susan grew up in Hungary and experienced antisemitism from a young age.

In 1944, Susan was sent to Auschwitz - Birkenau where she was separated from her family. Pupils were able to look at Susan's life before the war, during the war and then how she was able to rebuild her life after the Holocaust.

Using VR headsets, pupils were able to look at historical sites from Susan's testimony and her journey. Additionally, pupils were also able to ask Susan questions about her life.
